Highlights

Education Across the Miles and Outreach to the Caribbean:

Metro-Manhattan (NY) Links have an extensive history of outreach to countries in the Caribbean. Metro-Manhattan (NY) Links supported the building of a school in Jamaica in the late 90’s and the chapter has activated its membership around hurricane relief efforts to the Caribbean through the years.

Of particular focus has been outreach to Haiti. The chapter has had a relationship with Haiti for nearly 20 years, most recently participating in efforts to distribute toilets and personal household supplies to impoverished communities in partnership with Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods.

Youth at The United Nations:

Annually the chapter invites its youth service partners to spend a day at the United Nations. This exposure opportunity is intended to develop our students’ awareness of issues faced in our global community.
